The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding, v.6.1.0 (11 May 2007), Written by Darrin Lythgoe, 2001-2009 Wed, 07 Jan 2009 05:58:49 -0600 Researching Descendants of Adam Probst and Maria Magdalena Neu, who married 18 Feb 1748/49 in Hoffenheim, Germany. They had two son's Johann Michael Probst, Nicholas Propes, and three daughters. We currently have Nicholas Propes marriage to Barbara Locker, on 30 Apr 1773 in Dunmore/Shenandoah County, Va. Their children are John Propes, Henry Propst, Mary Magdalene Probst, Elizabeth Propes, Michael Propst, Susan T. Propes, Mary Polly Propes, Sarah Propes, Francis Propes. All of the children of Nicholas were born in Va. lived part of their lives in either Shenandoah/Page/Rockingham Counties VA. Nicholas moves on to Knox Co. Tennessee, with son John and daughter's Susan, Francis, and Sarah. John later moves on to Monroe Co, KY. and dies in Jackson Co, TN. Henry dies in VA. do to injuries received in the War of 1812. Michael and family moves to Illinois. Today the descendants of Nicholas Propes live mostly in VA, TN, KY, IL. IN and through out the United States. The spelling of our last name has changed as the years have gone by. Today we find it being spelled Propst, Propes and Proaps. This information has been gathered over the last seventeen years with the help of too many to mention But a special thanks to Louise Jackson Propes, Peggy Giltner and Tim Harper.
